Book Facility Rental
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Cathedral is blessed with beautiful facilities thanks to the hard work of our parishioners. Before you fill out a rental application, please know that we only rent to church members in good standing (if you’d like to become a member or bring your membership up to date, please visit our Membership page).
Members, please remember that you cannot rent the facilities on behalf of a non-member. And, if your event is scheduled during Lent or another fasting period, you must serve lenten food and no music is allowed.
Booking
Applications will be processed and reserved on a first come, first served basis. Check availability on the Booking Calendar at https://www.stsava-milw.org/booking-calendar. Remember to book quickly—our community has much to celebrate, so our facilities are in high demand.
Security Deposit
The deposit amount for all rentals is equal in amount to total rental fee. This deposit must be paid at the time of application. Any of the above or below mentioned behaviors or violations of rules by attendees will result in the security deposit not being returned and possible refusal of future bookings. In addition, if for any reason the scheduled event is canceled, the security deposit will not be returned.
CARE AND USE OF THE FACILITY
Setup
Setup is the renter’s responsibility. You may set up chairs and tables ahead of time if you have permission from the Scheduling Committee (this avoids double-booking or interfering with any standing rentals). Any preparation or setup must occur outside of school hours, which are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Respectful Behavior
The church grounds are shared by members of this community and are an extension of St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Cathedral. At any time, there may be children, other people or church employees present on the premises. Renters are responsible for the behavior of their guests. Here are the rules we expect you and your guests to follow:
-
No fighting, displays of public drunkenness, or disrespect shown to church employees will be tolerated
-
Vehicles are not permitted to be driven on the patio leading up to the cultural center entrance doors for any reason
-
Parking at the curb is permitted up to 15 minutes for loading and unloading
-
Smoking is strictly prohibited throughout the entire building
-
If there are rentals in other facilities at the same time as your rental date/time, be courteous and respectful of all individuals who have rented and paid for a designated facility
Music
Music is the life of any celebration, but we must be considerate of our neighbors. We ask that you stop the music at these rentals at the following times:
-
12 a.m. in Cultural Center, and the building must be cleared and cleaned out by 1 a.m.
-
9 p.m. in the outdoor Pavilion, and the building must be cleared and cleaned out by 11 p.m.
Cleanliness
A rented facility must be left in the same condition that you found it in. Breakdown is also the renter’s responsibility. This may include but isn’t limited to the following:
-
Return all tables and chairs to the proper storage area
-
Sweep and mop the kitchen and hall floors after your event
-
Clean the kitchen, which means wiping down the countertops and washing and drying all pots, pans, dishes, silverware and other utensils (be sure to return these items to their respective areas)
-
Empty all coolers, fridges and freezers of any food or drink you brought in (food/drink that is not removed 48 hours after the event will be thrown away)
Failure to do any of the above will result in the loss of your security deposit.
Damage
You break it, you pay for it. Renters will be held financially responsible for any damage to and around a rented facility. In the event of any damage to the facilities, the security deposit will be used to pay for repair. If the repair costs exceed the security deposit, the renter will be charged for the difference.
